Prior to joining Kitsaki Management, Matt worked for the Government of Saskatchewan for 13 years. Most recently, he led the team responsible for advancing Indigenous economic development and economic reconciliation as CEO of the Saskatchewan Indigenous Investment Finance Corporation (SIIFC) and Executive Director of the Indigenous Economic Development Branch. During his time with government, Matt led several key initiatives including the creation of the SIIFC, establishing the Indigenous Business Gathering and developing the province’s first ever Indigenous focused international mission.
Matt is a proud citizen of the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan and brings an extensive background of strategic engagement, cross-government collaboration and economic development to his new role. Matt was born and raised in Saskatchewan, but spent over a decade away from the province to work, travel and attend university. He has visited over 75 different countries and lived in England for several years. He received a Bachelors Degree from Carleton University and a Masters Degree from Oxford University.
Outside of work, Matt’s eight-year-old son and six-year-old daughter keep him busy but in the brief moments without kids’ activities he and his wife enjoy hiking and travel.
