Northern Resource Trucking (NRT)

As a 30% Kitsaki-owned company, NRT is deeply invested in economic growth, community development, and Indigenous workforce inclusion. The company employs 259 people, including 20 Indigenous employees and nine Lac La Ronge Indian Band members, and has distributed over $37 million to northern partners since 1994. To meet growing demand, NRT has invested $8.5 million in expanding its fleet of trucks and trailers.

NRT also prioritizes workforce training and career development, generating $615,000 in revenue from its training programs in 2023 while successfully training 48 new drivers. The company offers Mandatory Entry Level Training (MELT) for Class 1A licenses, as well as in-house programs covering TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods), WHMIS, Cargo Securement, and Professional Driving Improvement Courses. A two-year driver development program further prepares new hires for long-term careers in the trucking industry.
