NRSI fosters employee growth through a comprehensive Professional Development Program, which supports technical learning and certifications. Employees gain expertise through certifications such as Certified Arborist, Professional Biologist (P.Biol.), and Registered Professional Forester (RPF). In 2023, NRSI contributed $33,863 and over 2,000 hours towards professional development.

Employees also received an additional $11,377 for personal equipment purchases to enhance their fieldwork capabilities.
