Traditional Lands
Annual contributions to support land stewardship and development
Invested in treaty-land entitlement and loss-of-use settlement
Dedicated to the Traditional Lands and Resources Advisory Committee
Since 2013, Kitsaki has partnered with LLRIB to establish the Lands and Resources Department, responsible for regulating commercial activities within LLRIB territories. To ensure ongoing support, Kitsaki provides an annual $100,000 administration grant to this department.
In 2021, the Heritage Forest Fund was introduced under this advisory committee. This initiative focuses on mitigating the environmental impact of resource development on LLRIB’s traditional territories. The fund is sustained by contributions from Kitsaki’s timber license, reinforcing our dedication to sustainable development.
Protecting Our Environment and Culture
Beyond environmental conservation, the Heritage Forest Fund supports cultural activities for LLRIB Band Members. Since its inception, Kitsaki has contributed over $130,000 to this fund, underscoring our commitment to preserving the culture and natural resources of the LLRIB territories.
Through these initiatives, Kitsaki ensures that economic growth aligns with the values of sustainability, respect for the land, and cultural heritage.

Urban Development
To strengthen our urban presence and create more opportunities for our members, Kitsaki purchased the former HSBC building in downtown Saskatoon in 2024. This $6.5 million investment aims to provide employment opportunities and support economic development for LLRIB members residing in Saskatoon.
